Classes
With our famous Play & Learn classes, we were winners of the Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity Classes at the What’s On 4 Kids National Children’s Activities Awards 2025! In addition we offer sensory, signing, music, art, LEGO and pre-school school preparation classes.
Gymboree Play & Music classes operate as a membership scheme. Members pay a regular monthly fee which includes a space in an appropriate class every week, plus access to Open Gym sessions, and much more.
Gymboree Play & Music classes are uniquely and intentionally designed for early childhood development. Through play, your child is challenged physically, socially and cognitively, building crucial skills to support a lifetime of learning.
Our expert play leaders support you through 45 minutes of uninterrupted time to play, explore, and learn. Our custom designed curriculum challenges your child as they grow, with changing playscapes and themes every two weeks.

Baby
(0-18 Months)
Support growth, build self-esteem and encourage communication skills with classes that build strength through play. -
Babies (0 – 8 months)
Floor play and guided movement for the very youngest, building strength, communication and confidence. -
Baby Massage (0 – 12 months)
A 5-week IAIM-accredited course in massage techniques, supporting bonding, relaxation and physical development.

Baby Lab (0 – 8 months)
A themed sensory session combining music, art, signing, literacy and mindfulness in one class.

Crawlers (6 – 14 months)
Equipment-based play building upper body strength, coordination and the confidence to explore and move. -
Walkers (10 – 18 months)
Tunnels, slides, bridges and swings for new walkers, with singing and group play alongside. -
Music 1 (6 – 16 months)
Songs and sounds from around the world, building listening skills and early language through movement. -
Makaton Signing (6 – 12 months)
Around 100 signs learned through songs and games, supporting communication before speech develops -
Family Music (6 months – 5 years)
Mixed-age music exploring different styles, instruments and rhythms. Siblings at any stage are welcome.

Toddler
(10-28 Months)
Let your little learners develop problem-solving skills through interactive games, play and music. -
Walkers (10 – 18 months)
Tunnels, slides, bridges and swings for new walkers, with singing and group play alongside.

Climbing, balancing and physical challenges each week, with parachute time, bubbles and the Gymbo Dance. -
Music 1 (6 – 16 months)
Songs and sounds from around the world, building listening skills and early language through movement.

More instruments, more rhythm and more movement as your toddler starts to experiment with sound.

Family Music (6 months – 5 years)
Mixed-age music exploring different styles, instruments and rhythms. Siblings at any stage are welcome.

Sculpting, painting, collaging and texture work, focused on the process rather than any finished result. -
Family Art (18 months – 5 years)
Mixed-age creative sessions covering clay, collage and painting. Siblings of all ages are welcome.

Pre-schooler
(22 Months-5 Years)
Teaches kids the skills they'll need to start Pre-school and Kindergarten with plenty of time for play and creativity. -
Explorers (22 – 28 months)
Themed imaginative adventures building creativity, communication and early social skills through pretend play. -
Explorers Plus (28 months – 3 years)
Themed play with growing structure and independence, taking the first steps towards school readiness. -
Explorers Advanced (3 – 5 years)
Co-operative games and imaginative adventures building the confidence and social skills needed for school. -
Play Lab (2 – 5 years)
A STEAM-inspired class where children experiment, design and problem-solve through hands-on creative activities. -
Family Play (6 months – 5 years)
The full Play & Learn experience for families with children at different developmental stages.

Pre-school Steps (2 – 3 years)
A drop-off class introducing gentle separation, with teacher-led puzzles, playdough and storytime. -
School Skills (3 – 5 years)
A 90-minute drop-off class building the independence, social skills and learning foundations for school. -
Music 2 (16 – 28 months)
More instruments, more rhythm and more movement as your toddler starts to experiment with sound.

Music 3 (28 months – 5 years)
The most advanced music class, developing rhythm, musical patterns and performance confidence through instruments.

Family Music (6 months – 5 years)
Mixed-age music exploring different styles, instruments and rhythms. Siblings at any stage are welcome.

Family Art (18 months – 5 years)
Mixed-age creative sessions covering clay, collage and painting. Siblings of all ages are welcome.

Art 2 (24 – 36 months)
More materials and more exploration, with puppets and dramatic play woven throughout each session.

Art 3 (3 – 5 years)
Painting, sculpting, drawing and collaging alongside imaginative play, with something different to make each session.

LEGO (3 – 5 years)
A drop-off class where children build and problem-solve with classmates, developing teamwork and STEAM thinking. -
Theatre Arts (3 – 5 years)
Singing, dancing, acting and creating in a drop-off class, with regular performances for parents. -

Both of my children (3.5 years and 11 months) go to Gymboree Play & Music and love it. My toddler goes to their drop-off Lego class which she raves about. It's very creative, working not only on Lego skills but also painting, drawing etc. My infant son loves his Gymboree Play & Music Crawlers class - particularly loves crawling all over their props, through the tunnels, etc. Great way to get the infant crawling over obstacles! Gymboree Play & Music is part of our weekly schedule for both kids and we look forward to participating every week. Invaluable!
Cannot recommend Gymboree Play & Music Watford enough--truly THE BEST! ❤️🙌 What makes it so special are the amazing teachers/staff, especially Amber, Jack, Philippa, and Hannah! They’re not only incredibly talented in music and arts, but they’re also absolutely fantastic with kids of all ages.
My little girl was only 18 months old when we first discovered this wonderful place and started attending sessions. She’s now 5 years old, and we’re still here! That says it all 🥰
I genuinely believe that so many of my daughter’s milestones have been reached early because of the time she spends here. She was talking, walking, climbing, and exploring ahead of her peers, and I credit so much of that to the incredible environment and activities here. The space itself is wonderful — safe, clean, and full of opportunities for little ones to run, jump, climb, and burn off energy without any worries. But for me, Gymboree has been just as important as it has been for my daughter, especially as a mum without a village. ...What I didn’t realise was how much I would gain. I’ve made lifelong friendships and found a support network of the most incredible people.
